Day 2: You will learn only two routines, but that does not diminish the importance or value of this course. Paul's course was light on effects but incredibly full of practical guidance and insight from a seasoned pro. You will learn things like" how to approach a group of people at an event, how to create a cohesive routine, how to speak with potential clients, how to upsell without being a jerk (you're offering excellent service), how to answer the question, "so what is it you do?" when a client queries you about your services, and on and on. Make no mistake, you WILL learn some workable and practical effects but Paul's course was unique in that it was not one effect after another. Those types of sessions are great, but Paul provided information that I can use TODAY with my existing set. If you want to WORK and get PAID, get this course. Full stop.

I have watched a fair few lectures in my time and they have been great at exposing me to new material, sharing presentational ideas and expanding my repertoire. What Paul has done in this lecture goes beyond that by answering the fundamental questions that we all have when we are performing. How do I approach a table? How do I manage hecklers? How do I look after my valuable while performing and manage my props? How to I approach different environments? His wealth of experience and ability to advise and ability to answer questions based on his own experience is invaluable. This is someone who has worked in lots of different settings, learned from experience, and is able to share what he has learned in a way that makes perfect sense. His advice is so precise that it is possible for any aspiring performer to implement. This lecture is gold. Clichéd, I know, but apt. Well done. Thoroughly enjoying this lecture and looking forward to watching it again.

So much information here for all areas of mentalism and for any worker (mentalist or magician). Paul speaks from his vast experience of handling audiences and venues. His routines are tried and tested workers. As always with the Academy format, anything scripted always ends up diving off into a myriad of differing strands as questions come in from the watching participants. This is where the real nuggets of information can often be found.

Paul's Academy has been packed full of insightful information and tips on walk-around mentalism. His thoughts and theory on the business side were gold, and then we got the effects. Paul's effects are quick and to the point but very impactful, simple to follow but hard-hitting. A joy to watch a professional impart all this information and well worth picking this up if you are wanting to get into walkaround mentalism.

DAY-2 Did not think it possible BUT even better than yesterday !! I have been waiting for this type of practical advise. How to introduce yourself, deal with difficult situations and plan routines. Paul is a successful professional so his advise is from the real world and is invaluable. Highly recommended !!!!

Some great advice for Corporate situations, really giving you the inside track on many aspects of being a working mentalist. Great effects and a great guy to boot. I really think Alakazam shines with these two day mentalism courses.

Paul is a true worker and has shared some very insightful guidance that may be used by any mentalist who wishes to capture the lucrative corporate market. In Day One, he provided a number of quick "openers" that are so difficult to find in the magic literature. Quick - Straight The Point and useful for breaking the ice at a closeup table, tradeshow booth or during a walk-around. What I liked about Paul's approach to instruction was that he provided the foundation and framework from which a performer can more fully flesh out and build on to suit their own style. As with many of the Academy courses I've watched, the real gold is before and in-between the actual effects. Paul's first day was no exception. I'm going to instantly steal...hmmm, borrow...some of his scripting when talking to potential clients. For Paul, this stuff comes almost off the cuff, but that's because he's been doing it for so long. I'll submit a second review after tomorrow's session.

Every Academy has many very good points and I can see that Paul Brook should be no exception to this statement :-) with another Night to come I am looking forward to that. Thanks yet again Alakazam

We are only a little ways into this course and I’ve already gotten more than my money’s worth. Paul clearly has a lot of experience as a working mentalist. The hard won information is very valuable to anyone doing or hoping to do this type of work and the effects taught are great. Thanks for making this available.

A great Academy !! It is superb to learn tips/ideas and effects from a seasoned professional.. I have learnt so much !! Mentalism is huge sub-genre and Paul has taught me where the various types of effect fit into the different settings. Absolute gold !!!!
