Imagine having a card selected and signed (no force) The card is replaced in to the deck.  You now dribble the cards on to the table and toss your Sharpie marker through the cascading cards.  On its travels it appears the Sharpie has caught a single playing card under its clip.  It is none other than the signed selection!
