Double Bill is one of Peter’s go to effects when he’s performing at walk around/ mix and mingle events.  This is an effect that can be done with a borrowed deck with absolutely no prior set up.

Effect

A deck is shuffled and examined by a spectator. The deck is normal in every way.  Two cards are selected and signed.  The signed selections are now lost in the deck.

You explain to your spectator that you are going to attempt the hardest move in magic.  You are going to attempt to turn the cards face-up without them seeing.  As this is being said you openly turn the top card over.  You ask your spectator is if they caught you and at this point they respond with a big YES!  You now say, "now most people see me turn the top card over but miss the rest of the deck” as you say this you start running through the deck, your spectator can now see each and every card is face up apart from one card sitting in the middle (this is such a shock moment and never fails to get a great reaction). The face-down card is of course one of the signed selections and it’s the only card that is seen to be face down.

Now with no funny moves at all the face up deck is handed to spectator number two to hold.  You ask him to concentrate on his card.  He them spreads the deck and another card appears face down in the deck. Its spectator number 2 signed selection.

Double Bill is easy to do and Peter has stripped the handling down to the bone to make the effect squeaky clean!
