Eight cards are removed and shuffled. Your participant makes 4 incredibly fair choices and it’s revealed that they have somehow intuited the red cards as the remaining cards are shown to be 4 black cards. You will love John’s thinking and construction here.

In phase 2 all the cards are mixed and a row of 4 cards are dealt face down. Your participant then decides which of the remaining 4 cards go on top of each tabled card, firming pairs. With no equivoque you then reveal that the pairs match up perfectly! So clean, powerful and direct.

You could end right there but then John performs and teaches you his handling for the classic Dunbury Delusion using the 8 cards. To all the world it seems that things have gone completely wrong as a free selection is tried to be located. But the tables are turned and it’s found in a most surprising manner!

Some further words on this one if I may. Playing with the routines, not only are they 3 x flowing (or independent) effects but the utilities/processes used are excellent and very useful! As mentioned in the performance, some ‘nuggets’ too! I love this the more I play with it. First class stuff!

Nothing here that a beginner couldn't handle and always something for experienced folks to learn. The simplicity and manipulation blend perfectly to make something that looks impossible... and the price is amazing!

A super three phase routine from the fertile mind of John Carey. Each component of Octet has impact and can be performed as separate stand-alone effects but there is definite synergy when the three are routined together. Great fun to perform and ideal for a remote medium like ''Zoom'. A five-star recommendation from me.

John Carey does it again.. I have never been disappointed on anything John Carey has put out over the years. This by far is a another great routine that can be care around with you or even if you at a friends house using a borrowed deck. Highly recommend it and its also a great price.

Just love this. A great little routine that flows together really nicely. It's modular so you can take whatever you want but it really works as a three phase routine where I like the fact that the card selection part comes at the end. As well as zoom this would work great live with lots of opportunities to get a group of spectators involved.

You could carry the cards required in your wallet or take from a full deck. As ever, excellent tutorial, very detailed, informative and entertaining, led by John and very ably assisted by Peter! Video or face to face, this is a gem of a ‘mini act’. £7.99 - I’ve paid double that and more for a poor packet trick! Highly recommended.

This is just absolutely amazing and this is also absolutely John Carey. In my opinion, John has one of the greatest inventive minds out there. He also has a knack of coming up with effects that slay you and yet, they are not difficult to do once you know the secret.
