I got this second hand, off eBay, but I thought I would write a review, anyway. The effect is a spelling trick, which might put off some card purists. I use it as a demonstration of how a mentalist would perform a card trick, which "sleight of mind" rather than sleight of hand, which suits my style. The ad copy says that there are no sleights involved, and whilst that is strictly true, there is a "move" that is somewhat knacky, and that will take some practising to perfect and make everything run as smoothly as Liam Montier performs it. That said, I love this effect and the mechanics that Montier has developed for it, and it is very impressive to lay audiences.
Easy and baffling. A very nice development of the principle
Been a while since I purchased anything card related being my area is predominantly Mentalism however when I saw this reviewed on the Alakazam video blog I thought ooo that looks good especially the final phase which I feel could be a standalone climax effect on its own which is how I have been using this. Liam's teaching is clear and precise and the bonus handing suggestions and advice are invaluable. My only gripe is the trick bit can be a little knacky especially if your an older performer with dodgy fingers. Ken Brooke would be proud of what Liam has done with this.
Been using this as a show for card counting. It's fairly easy to do though I have missed the break on a couple of occasions.. luckily i have realised my mistake before actually counting out so just recut. The more I have used it the more confident and easier it has become to use especially with two victims as you can gain the suit choice first . Gets 80 percent from me.
This is superb !! Chris is right it does require practice to get the process to look smooth (which is very important) It is not difficult !! The instructions are short but spot on. The production is great. It can be used table- hoping and the deck can be used for other routines. The few people I have shown have fooled. Recommended !
Really like Spell O Matic. Makes you look like a master of sleight of hand. It takes a little practice to get the hang of it, but once you do that you have a entertaining effect in your hands.
Absolutely fantastic as I've come to expect from Liam Montier. The handling really is easy and very easy to perform. Can't wait to get out and perform this. The instructional video is very clear. There are also written instructions for those that prefer. I really like the fact that it is a regular deck at the end of the day so can be used for other effects too.
